HK fever

Less than a week before we jet off to China. Avian flu, baby gear, jet lag, hot and cold climates, car seats, etc. are making me slightly anxious, though I try not to focus on the details.

I do have to say there is very little information on what to expect when you gain 12 hours. I'll have to ask my cousin in Delhi.

Snow today. I just love the first snowfall.

Slow down

I drove like a madwoman today. I feel self-conscious driving like a maniac with an infant seat in my car. Mothers shouldn't weave in and out of traffic I guess. I'm stressed over the ridiculous murder charge against that Khadr kid. This is the American interpretation of murder: you try to kill us - murder. We try to kill you - democracy building.

Mr. Flannel learns to walk Posted by Picasa

Crazy dreams

I have this recurring nightmare that the little guy has somehow gotten loose and I'm trying to grab him before... before something happens. I practically spring out of bed, arms outstretched and then wake up. Plain old mama fear? Control issues?

Vote

People who don't vote bug me. Montreal's mayor stayed the same yesterday thanks to one third of Montrealers. I guess we could all wait until the candidates perfectly reflect our own personal politics and then, only then, would we vote. While I hold my breath, get out there and vote. It's thrilling.
